This very pretty lingerie collection is from luxury label Ayten Gasson. Made from the softest, shimmering silk fabrics and unique vintage trims, spring summer 2013 is a delicate mix of styles with a decadent appeal: kimono style bed jackets, lace-kissed playsuits and soft-cup bras.
Ayten Roberts is both designer and founder of Ayten Gasson lingerie. A graduate from Central Saint Martins, London in 2004, she quickly became disillusioned with the manufacturing industry in the UK. Finding that many of the factories she knew in England had closed and moved their design operations overseas, she worked to support the British fashion industry by using only small production units in London, Nottingham and Wales to make her collections. Roberts is also committed to ethical and sustainable practice and recently launched an eco-friendly xətt. Cruelty free ‘peace silk’ and organic silk also feature regularly within her collections – there is a lovely interview with the designer on The Lingerie Addict about her inspirations and ethical approach.
What appeals to me about this line for spring is its slinky look and feel and the vintage flair which comes across in these images. It makes me think of the era of Downton Abbey – I think Lady Mary would be more than at home with this silk teddy və garter as her foundations!
